This month we submitted our RIIO-T3 Business Plan to Ofgem, outlining our proposals to invest £10.6billion in our transmission network from 2026 to 2031.
Our transmission network in Central and Southern Scotland is essential in moving clean, green power from where it’s generated to where it’s needed most. Powering our homes, schools, businesses and vital services.
The significant investment outlined in our Business Plan is crucial to achieving Net Zero and will unlock many positive benefits across Scotland and beyond.
Demand for electricity is increasing every day as we all look to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, so this is a pivotal time for investment to upgrade and expand our network so it can cope with these increasing demands and be more resilient in the future. It is also critical to enabling Government Net Zero targets and the Clean Power 2030 mission, and will create economic growth, green jobs and enable community benefits.
Our journey is collaborative. We have engaged with stakeholders every step of the way to ensure our plan reflects the needs and aspirations of the communities we serve. We have also welcomed advice and challenge from our Independent Net Zero Advisory Council along the way.
Together we are building a greener future, creating jobs, and driving sustainable economic growth.
Our next Transmission Business Plan is not just about energy; it’s about empowering our future.
Engagement has shaped our RIIO-T3 Business Plan every step of the way, and that continues now.
