SP Energy Networks at Heads of Planning Scotland conference 2024

SP Energy Networks supported this year's Heads of Planning Conference 2024 held in Galashiels at Borders College.

With network resilience and customer service at the heart of what we do, the electricity network we operate is crucial to the delivery of the UK and Scotland’s Net Zero targets and the transition to a more sustainable future.

The infrastructure we look after include over 42,000 kilometres of overhead lines, more than 68,000 kilometres of underground cables and over 33,000 substations on our Distribution network. Land and planning is therefore an important area of focus with Heads of Planning in local authorities, consultancies and government agencies among our key stakeholders.

SP Energy Networks brought information about our approach to Environmental Planning and Routeing to the conference and welcomed the opportunity to engage with a broad set of stakeholders in Galashiels.
