Webinar on 132kV Electricity Upgrade – What’s been achieved and what’s next

18 September 2025 — 18:00 - 18:45

18 September 2025 — 18:00 - 18:45
Status: Ended

We’ve almost completed the first phase of our £40m upgrade to the electricity network between Kirkby and Bootle. This is one of the region’s biggest infrastructure projects — and we’d like to take you through what’s been achieved, what comes next, and the impact for your community.

To do that, we’re hosting a short webinar designed especially for elected members:

  • Date: 18th September
  • Time:6pm
  • Where: Microsoft Teams (link provided on registration)

In this 45-minute session, you’ll hear:

  • A recap of what we’ve delivered so far in Phase 1
  • The next steps in the programme and what it means locally
  • The benefits for residents — from a more reliable network to Net Zero readiness
  • The ways we’re working with communities to minimise disruption

Why it matters

The underground circuit we’re replacing has powered more than 160,000 homes for over 60 years. Upgrading it ensures our region is ready for the future — supporting more homes, electric vehicles, and low-carbon heating.

Who it’s for

This briefing is for councillors across Knowsley, Liverpool and Sefton. Whether your ward has already been directly affected or will be in later phases, this is your opportunity to get the latest updates and ask questions.

We’re committed to bringing councillors on this journey with us, so you have the information and confidence to explain to residents what’s happening — and why.
