Are you a councillor in Knowsley/St Helens/Liverpool/Sefton?

We know you don’t need to know every cable in the ground — but your residents might expect you to.

Why this matters
SP Energy Networks is replacing a key 132kV electricity circuit that runs between Knowsley, Liverpool and Sefton — one of the region’s most important cables, first installed in the 1960s.

As we move toward Net Zero, the way people use electricity is changing fast. This project will help meet that demand — supporting new housing, electric vehicles, and low-carbon heat.

The upgrade is being delivered in phases over next two years, with early works starting this August in Knowsley.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • What the 132kV upgrade is, and why it matters
  • Which areas are affected and when — and which aren’t
  • What your residents might ask — and how to respond with confidence
  • What we’re saying to your residents
  • How to stay informed as the project progresses

Date: Wednesday 23 July
Time: 16:00–16:45 (via Microsoft Teams)
